The National President of the association, Mr. Sayina Riman, made the condemnation in Calabar when members paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor, Professor Ivara Esu.
The members stated that they were in Calabar to intimate government of the effects of multiplicity of revenue points. The president promised to synergise with the state government to address all issues.
Riman promised that the association would continue to partner the state in cocoa development and production, noting that Cross River is the highest cocoa producing state in the country with the best quality beans.
On his part, the deputy governor disclosed that plans are on to make cocoa a major crop for export in the next few years, as it remains a major revenue earner for the state.
He condemned any crisis in the industry that could jeopardise revenue, noting that government would not allow any action by individuals or groups to sabotage efforts towards cocoa development.
Esu expressed hope that the outcome of the meeting would move the industry to greater heights.
