The poultry landscape of the Southeast of Nigeria may never be the same again if the plan by the Abia State comes alive as the governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu wants to turn it the poultry capital of the east.

The governor explained that under this projection, the government would, in collaboration with Obasanjo Farms Ltd, establish a Poultry Village in the state from where farmers will be free to take day old-chicks to for breeding for them, while government provides the other facilities required for poultry production in the village.

The governor, who said that the project is part of government strides to revitalize agriculture and boost food production in the state, added that each State Commissioner and members of the State executive council would, from this farming season, establish their own farms.
